Intro · Normal · Nightmare · Hell · Act 1 · Act 2 · Act 3 · Act 4 · Act 5

After having defeated Duriel, I was quite confident that Act 3 will go by without smoothly.

Lvl 40 Spider Forrest
I started using Conviction against all those LI critters. It boosts the fire dammage of Kuko and is of great help for the merc's cold attacks too. I have to say, I'm quite happy Geschef. He's the first Act 3 mage I've chosen as permanent companion. They may suck in full games, but are an option to consider when soloing or in single player. The Spider Cavern is one of the places where he is very usefull. No cold immunes around - he has no problems freezing critters in place which makes them easy targets for UltraLow. So the battle with Sszark did require only one or two retreats, and once his minions are gone, knockback keeps him at distance. One of the spiders dropped Mavina's belt.

Lvl 41 Great Marsh
Hmm Great Marsh. Not one of my favorit areas. Still a lot lightning immunes around, so UltraLow progressed rather slow here.

Lvl 42 Flayer Jungle
All the cold immunes around - Geschef isn't a big help here. A few Flayers and he's gone, so I saved the resurrection costs before running out of gold. UltraLow had to face several LE/CE bosses. It would be nice to have one 'cannot be frozen' item or at least better cold resists (29 at that time) here, as the sparks are freezing UltraLow quite long.

Lvl 43 Flayer Dungeon III
Got the merc back on UltraLow's side in Flayer Dungeon III. His task is to freeze the Witchdoctor's Minions in place. Their Inferno doesn't hurt Geschef too much - the MDR of Vipermagi works great. And finally Holy Shock is maxed and UltraLow has reached nearly his full killing power.

Take a deap breath and enter the ruined temple. Again no door trap :). But a Corrupt Rogue in one of the side room (Extra fast Cursed CI) with Might aura under her feet. You better avoid being hit. The other side room was unpopulated, so UltraLow had some space for moving around, so he wasn't hit even once. When sneaking into the main room Sarina showed up - Extra fast spectral hitting FE CE CI, and still mighty. Ran to the side room and opened a TP as emegency exit but didn't need to take it as the knockback kept the pack locked in the door. Last Boss was a spider who was the cause for the Might aura. The door trick worked again, which reminded me a bit to the old Diablo I days.

Lvl 44 Travincal
Proceed to Travincal. In front of the entrance - a Zakarum Priest boss pack (CI LE conviction). Hmm it will be tough to prevent them to heal each other all the time. Had to let UltraLow run around a bit to isolate them. Once the minions are done, it's time to fight the boss out of range of his conviction aura.

Not a single bad mod on the Council members. Toorc (CE LE PI FI Mana burn), Ismail (Extra strong cursed MS Mana burn FI) and Geleb (Extra string FE extra fast CE LI) all failed to heal themself even a single time, so the path to the compelling orb was clear quite fast.

Bremm of course was much harder (Conviction CE extra fast LI CI). I first tried to let the fire and tiny physical dmg of Kuko do the work, but switched to Smite/Crushing Blow/Conviction eventually and used Kuko only for the last sliver. The cold death nova hit UltraLow, but didn't hurt him too much thanks to Salvation :).

I resurrected the merc for the other two guys. None of the two was cold immune - just stunlock them with Smite/Conviction and let the merc care for the sliver. I tried the Smite thing with Mephisto too, but stun didn't work and his melee attacks hurt quite a lot. So just refill the quiver and kill him with hundreds of arrows over the moat.
