The entrance to the Spider Cavern was guarded. I TPed out and reentered
because I was unable to analyse any mods. It turned out to be only some
Champion spiders. I did not fear them because a nearby defence shrine
reduced the chances to be hit from 95% to 85% ;). Sszark The Burning showed
up in front of his minions - luring him away made things a lot easier. I
killed him with poison trying to avoid to be hit. He dropped a nice 26% fire
resists/3-6 cold dmg/lvl 22 req charm for later use :).
Ormus gave me a nice ring as reward for The Gidbin quest: +117 AR, 4% life
leech and +16 life - lvl 26. I treat it as a keeper.
The next tricky situation awaited UltraLow right behind the entrance to
Flayer Dungeon lvl 2: A Fanatic Stygian Doll boss pack. Nasty. Poison has to
do the work of course, but it's hard to outrun them - you don't want to be
close when they finally explode.
Other than in Normal the Witchdoctor was quite easy - poison him again. Even
the merc managed to stay out of the inferno this time and survived the
battle.
Lvl 20 Lower Kurast
Went into the Ruined Temple - no door trap - take a deep breath. But - this
is still a dangerous place which requires some strategical approach. Mine is:
Allways clear the side branches first - nothing their. Then go slowly into
the main room and retreat when the first critter shows up. Good idea - it's
a Might enchanted spider. This would have been unsolvable when activated
together with Sarina's gang. So lure the spider to the side room, stick
poison on him, and keep running around. Same way with Sarina. The quest
reward raised UltraLow's life above 700 :).
Killing the Kurast Council Members required some time, but was easy as I was
able to activate them one by one. UltraLow even meleed some of them, after
having turned them green of course. This way they failed to selfheal.
Bremm Sparkfist was a lot harder. The mods weren't too bad (MS beside the
usual conviction/CE combo), but the Hydras are painfull. He kept healing
himself six times, but the permanent poison seemd to have slowly destroyed
his brain so he failed to memorize this option before it was too late.
Maffer Dragonhand was Holy Freeze beside extra fast which made a hit and run
tactic a bit complicated. With the help of the merc I managed to place him
right for the 'kill him over the moat with poisoned arrows' tactic. Same
with Wyand Voidbringer (LE).
My first thought was to do the same thing with Mephisto, but as I feared him
less than the three other guys I let UltraLow run straight up to him and
killed him with Vengance/Thorns.
